Havana is a very lively and vibrant city, so that having a place to recharge, relax and having some down time is vital. If you’re asking me what the perfect place is to escape the hustle and bustle of Havana, then I only have one answer: Villa Flora! Here is a full review of my stay at Villa Flora in Havana:
Quick Overview
Villa Flora is a luxurious family-owned accommodation that will make you feel immediately welcome thanks to the friendly staff and the beautiful Cuban-inspired interior. The villa is located in the peaceful and safe neighborhood Miramar in Havana. A five minute walk will take you to Vedado and a quick ten minute taxi ride to Old Havana.
While being welcomed with a drink and touring the villa and property, the staff took care of the check in process. Then, it was time to have a look into our room!
The Room
Villa Flora offers seven spacious bed rooms, each one is uniquely and beautifully styled. You will immediately notice the lovely details throughout the villa and the Cuban influence. We stayed three nights in a room on the ground floor. The perks were, among other things, the immediate access into our terrace and the garden.
When stepping into the room, the first thing you will spot is the stunning bath tub, which gives the whole room a luxurious feel. Our room featured a huge and comfy wooden bed, a mini bar with complimentary water, a flatscreen TV, a closet and stunning details like a chandelier and the vintage-looking mirror, which I loved. The open bathroom was outfitted with a free standing bathtub (a true eyecatcher!), a walk in rain shower, as well as fluffy bath robes. Colorful tiles on the floor gave the room warmth. Another thing that I really enjoyed was the greenery that can be found throughout the entire villa.
Breakfast
The freshly made breakfast is being served on the terrace at your preferred time. Whether you want to sleep in or are an early bird, you can decide the time, when breakfast will be served. This makes planning your day so easy. While overlooking the beautiful garden and pool area, my boyfriend and I enjoyed a variety of fresh fruits as well as fresh juices (my favorite was watermelon!), ham and cheese, coffee and tea, eggs made preferred to our preferences, some jam and also different kind of breads. Definitely a great start into the day!
Service and Facilities
The villa is surrounded by beautiful lush greenery that makes tropical dreams come true. Guests are welcome to relax in a hammock by the pool or enjoy a cocktail on the terrace. Loungers are available, if you want to work on your tan and rocking chairs beneath the palm trees are the ideal place to read a book. A quick dip in the pool, which can be used at any time, is a must after long walks in Havana. Afterwards, it’s time to rest in the jacuzzi. Pool towels are available and free of charge. The garden facilities ensure a maximum of relaxation and luxury.
Besides the garden, all guests are welcome to use the dining room (a favorite of mine), the bar room and the entrance area, which includes a wooden piano.
Complimentary Wi-Fi, which is truly a luxury in Cuba, can be used at any time. The staff is available 24 hours, in case guests have any questions or requests. The staff will take care of making a dinner reservation, hailing a cab or making you a sandwich for lunch followed by cocktails at the pool.
Book a room at Villa Flora, if you’re looking for a luxurious and stylish stay in Havana that is full of great facilities with a Cuban feel. The attentive staff will do anything to make your stay memorable. The great service, the beautiful property and the unique interior will give your experience an extra luxurious touch. Villa Flora is the ideal accommodation for families and group of friends, due to the many rooms that the villa offers. When staying at Villa Flora, one should be aware that you certainly don’t want your stay coming to an end.
