Usually I am pretty optimistic about every situation and try to see the positive in everything. But I also believe that it is important to realize what you don’t like in order to appreciate other things more. Don’t get me wrong I love to travel, but there are some aspects that can bother me sometimes. Here are my top three things that I hate about traveling:
1. Waiting Time
I am person who likes to get things done quickly and I do not like to waste time. Yes, you could say that I’m impatient. What I dislike the most is the waiting time before boarding a plane. You have to wait, and wait and well, wait. There is not much to do than sitting around and to kill time until you hear the salvation: “Please board the plane.” And so the excitement starts again!
Quick Tip: If you travel solo, try to think ahead and bring a magazine or book along with you.
2. Public Toilets
This may sound weird, but I think that most of you (especially girls) will agree with me that finding a ‘clean’ public bath room is not the easiest task while traveling. Whether it is the lack of a toilet or the unpleasant state of an existing one – not fun at all. Countries with different standards than yours and long air plane rides can be pretty problematic as well, but I guess it’s just part of the game.
3. Bad Weather
You’ve experienced it: you have an exciting day ahead of you full with plans of sightseeing. You are on your way to your next sightseeing destination and feel the first drop of rain coming down. Soon it starts pouring rain and needless to say you have not brought an umbrella with you (Hello London!). Nothing can ruin a day of traveling as much than being drenched with rain.
Quick Tip: Always try to check the weather beforehand to avoid surprises and have a back-up plan!
Do you hate an aspect about traveling?

Love it! I can definitely identify with all of these. Personally, I’m not the biggest fan of flying, so I hate the waiting around at the airport before you board the plane. I just want to get up in the air and on my way! 🙂

Thank you for your comment, Emily 🙂 That’s exactly the same feeling that I have!

Ugh I totally understand! I think I’m starting to appreciate the time waiting for planes though. It’s like, as my life gets busier and busier, I learn to appreciate those times when I can’t do anything but chill out, read a book, listen to music, and not think. But I do get stressed if I’ve got a tight connecting flight (ahh!).

Yes, I think it is really important to appreciate each moment and try to see the positive even during not so pleasant times.

The worst thing about travelling, though, is when you have connecting flights and one of them gets delayed, so you lose the next one.. Hate it! Every time is hapens (has been twice in my life so far), I always feel lost like a little girl…

Yes, you are so right. This happened to me twice on the same journey. It was really stressful, but on the other hand I got to spend a whole day in a new city 🙂
