Upon entering the Regent Hotel in Berlin, I felt like walking into a royal residence. The lobby of the five star hotel couldn’t be more opulent and chic. Beautiful fresh flowers, plenty of golden details, elegant marble elements, fancy chandeliers and even a piano. It can’t get more luxurious than this!
Location
The Regent Berlin is conveniently located in the district Mitte. A prime location for first time visitors to Berlin! The hotel enjoys a view of the beautiful Gendarmenmarkt (one of my favorite places in Berlin!) and is situated in walking distance to major sights like the Brandenburg Gate, the Museum island or the Holocaust Memorial. Additionally, the shopping street Friedrichstraße is just around the corner.
The Room
After the quick and smooth check in, I was entering the deluxe room, where I was staying in for two nights. The room is elegantly styled in warm tones, with wooden elements and decorated in the Biedermeier style. Overall, the room is well outfitted with a super comfortable king bed, a minibar, a Nespresso coffee maker, a flatscreen TV with a DVD player and also complimentary WiFi. Complimentary water and fruit have also been provided, which was a nice touch. The highlight of the room is definitely the stunning view over the Gendarmenmarkt. Absolutely lovely!
Although it was raining during my stay, I did not have any problems with just putting on that fluffy robe, cuddling up in the comfy bed and having a night in.
The spacious bathroom looks truly royal, as it is completely covered in marble. It features a walk in shower, a big bathtub, a separate toilette and amenities by L’Occitane. Taking a bubble bath was a must!
The Breakfast
Breakfast is taking place in the hotel’s two-Michelin-starred restaurant Fischers Fritz. The restaurant is just as elegantly decorated as the remaining hotel. The service was extraordinary and our special requests were happily taken. Some parts of the breakfast can be found on a buffet, while the other parts can be ordered à la carte. The buffet offered numerous kinds of cereals, fresh fruits, different kinds of pastries and yogurts. My favorite items from the menu were the Eggs Benedict with salmon (soo good!) and the fluffy blueberry pancakes. I wouldn’t mind having them daily for breakfast!
Facilities and Services
Being a five star property, the Regent Berlin offers it’s guests several services. Guests can enjoy their afternoon tea at the Tea & Lobby Lounge while the piano is being played. If you fancy a cocktail, then the hotel’s terrace in the courtyard is the place to go. Unfortunately, as it was raining the whole weekend, we were not able to enjoy some drinks there. A spa and a gym are available as well. Overall, I found the service very attentive and helpful at all times.
If you’re planning your first visit to Berlin or if you’re looking for a hotel in a convenient location, then the Regent Hotel is perfectly situated in the midst of the city and should be your first choice. Besides it’s great location, the Regent Berlin convinces it’s guest with excellent service and a luxurious and royal setting.
Thank you to the Regent Berlin for hosting me! The opinions expressed on this blog are always my own.
