Once in a while you need to treat yourself to a super relaxing weekend. And this is exactly what I did. I packed my suitcase, took my boyfriend with me and headed to the Grand Hyatt Berlin for a relaxing weekend. So, here is what a weekend at this luxurious property looks like!
Quick Overview
The Grand Hyatt Berlin is a sophisticated and contemporary-looking five star hotel at Berlin’s vibrant Potsdamer Platz. Potsdamer Platz is situated closely to major sights like the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag and the Holocaust memorial. Many restaurants, bars and shopping malls can be found in walking distance, as well.
When entering the Grand Hyatt Berlin, you will find yourself in an airy and spacious lobby that reflects the style of the hotel. The checkin process was a brief, thanks to the helpful and friendly staff. We were then accompanied to the elevator and headed to our room next.
The Room
We had the pleasure to stay in a Club Room during the weekend, which means that we had access to the Grand Club Lounge. The Grand Club Lounge offers continental breakfast in the morning, cake in the afternoon, snacks in the evening and complimentary drinks for all Club Room guests. Such a nice addition to our stay!
The room itself was spacious in size and we felt immediately at home, thanks to the chic, but cozy interior. Wooden elements added warmth to the room, while the stylish furniture gave the room a contemporary look. The vast windows brightened up the room with sunlight, which I loved. Although the property is located amidst a busy neighborhood in Berlin, the room was never noisy.
Our room was perfectly outfitted with a comfy king size bed, a TV, a mini bar, tea and coffee making facilities, complimentary Wi-Fi and a seating area with a large glass table. Bottles of complimentary water, a box of delicious pralines (they know me so well!) and a basket full of fresh fruit were waiting for us upon our arrival.
The bath room completed the modern and elegant appearance of the room with a luxurious touch. Fully decorated with beautiful marble and equipped with a huge rain show, a bath tub, bath robes and slippers, complimentary amenities, a hair dryer and even a small TV above the sink. Absolutely stunning!
Breakfast
Breakfast at the Grand Hyatt Berlin is served near the lobby in the hotel’s restaurant VOX. The buffet style breakfast offers fresh fruits and juices, a selection of different types of cheeses and sausages, cereals, delicious pastries and all kinds of other cold and warm breakfast goods. Oh, and champagne for a festive Sunday brunch! Guests can also order freshly made egg dishes like my favorite egg benedict or choose between sweet breakfast options like waffles and pancakes. Yummy!
Service and Facilities
A relaxing weekend wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the spa. The Grand Hyatt Berlin is home to the day spa ‘Club Olympus Spa & Fitness‘ located on the top floor of the property, which boasts incredible skyline views over Berlin. The spa features an indoor swimming pool, a whirlpool, a Turkish sauna, a Finnish sauna and a rooftop terrace (perfect for tanning during summer time!). Treatments such as massages or facial treatments can be booked, as well. Naturally, we visited the spa daily during our stay.
During our weekend stay, we also managed to squeeze in a session at the hotel’s gym. The gym is located in the spa area, too. Although it is not big in size, it features all the necessities one might need.
The hotel offers a variety of restaurants and bars, in case guests want to dine in. The VOX restaurant serves regional cuisine without refined sugar as well as sushi, while Italian dishes can be found at Tizian Lounge. VOX bar is the ideal place for all whiskey lovers, and the urban styled bar Jamboree provides guests with cocktails.
My boyfriend and I couldn’t have wished for a better spot for a weekend getaway right in the middle of Berlin. We had good nights of sleeps in the comfy bed, delicious and fresh breakfast to start the day, we were able to relax and rejuvenate at the spa and of course had a lovely evening in the executive lounge. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing weekend getaway in Berlin or are exploring Berlin for the first time, the Grand Hyatt Berlin will surely be the right choice.
Thank you to Grand Hyatt Berlin for hosting me! The opinions expressed on this blog and the photos are as always my own.
