As my time in Turkey comes slowly to an end (I can’t believe that I have been living here for 8 months!), I reflect on my past adventures in this beautiful country. A trip that definitely sticks out is my journey to Cappadocia, which was on my bucket list for quite some time. It was the most enchanting travel experience I’ve ever had!
Although it already was mid-November, we were greeted with blue skies and bright sunshine. Pure bliss! The otherworldly landscape of Cappadocia took my breath away at first glance. I have never seen anything like it before! Cappadocia is situated in the Anatolian region of central Turkey and the beautiful valleys, canyons and bizarre-looking rock formations are made from volcanic eruptions.
A highlight was without a doubt flying in a hot air ballon over old cave villages and valleys during the sunrise. Seeing the surrealistic landscape that Cappadocia is known for from above is a complete different experience than exploring the area directly. I can only recommend you to hop on a hot air ballon and to have this dreamy experience yourself!
